Cruxnote

Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 23, 2026

Cruxnote is a personal bouldering notebook for iPhone. It is built to work without an account and without collecting personal data for advertising or analytics.

What stays on your iPhone

Problem names, areas, grades, notes, drawings, photos, videos, voice notes, map points you save, and an optional notebook-owner name are stored locally in Cruxnote’s private app container on your iPhone.

Camera, Photos, Microphone, and Location

Camera and Photos access is requested only after you choose to capture or pick a boulder picture or video. The microphone is used for voice notes and video sound you record. Location is used in the foreground when you tap a location button to mark a boulder. Opening Apple Maps sends only the destination you selected to that app.

Collection and tracking

Cruxnote does not create user accounts, run analytics, show advertising, track users across apps or websites, sell data, or upload your notebook to a developer-operated server for storage. Device backups may include app files depending on your iOS settings. Optional Spotlight indexing and Siri Shortcuts stay on the device and follow your Apple system settings.

Sharing and deletion

If you share a PDF, ZIP archive or media file, you choose the destination and the content. Shared files may include the notebook-owner name you signed on first launch. You can erase the notebook in Settings. Removing the app also removes its local container according to iOS behavior.

Changes

If these practices change, this page and the in-app disclosures will be updated before a changed version is distributed.
